About the Print – Heart of Gold
This dramatic print celebrates the bonds that endure — love, truth, and loyal friendships. Crafted from a rich collage of antique artwork, it features hand-painted swallows from an 1865 scrapbook, floral wreaths by 17th-century artist Karel Batist, and a sacred heart from Notre Dame in France, embroidered with gilded thread in 1872. The two swallows, wings outstretched as traditional symbols of loyalty, carry a ribbon — a reminder that even across distances, those we love remain close to our hearts. A vintage banner from a Victorian-era sign proudly displays the motto: “friendship, love, and truth” — a meaningful statement of the threads that tie us together.
