ABOUT THE PRINT: Airy and ethereal, Folklore is Market of Stars’ nod to the romance of the Arts and Crafts movement and the beauty of non-finito — art that remains a work in progress. The Bird-of-Peace motif comes from an original hand-embroidered piece by Vancouver Island fiber artist Kim Donohoe, who captured every intricate detail of the plumage with single-ply thread. The background panels draw from three separate works by famed British textile designer William Morris (1885), intentionally left unfinished to reveal his original pencil and ink sketches. These details celebrate the raw beauty of the creative process — the magic of art becoming. The result feels like a fairytale you can wear.
