About the Print – Flight of Fancy
Hummingbirds may be tiny, but they are powerful symbols of hope, healing, and luck — and in some traditions, they carry well-wishings from loved ones, near or departed. A flock of hummingbirds is called a glitter, a shimmer, or a bouquet, and our exuberant print captures this magic beautifully. Using a collage of 1700s floral paintings, including several works by trailblazing artist Rachel Ruysch — the first female member of The Hague’s prestigious painter’s society — this design celebrates the wonder, resilience, and beauty of the natural world.
