About the Maker

Adrian Klis was born in Kaatsheuvel, Holland — a historic leather-making village — and brought his craftsmanship to Western Canada in 1994. Working from his farm in Bearberry, he pioneered the use of rugged Canadian bison leather at a time when few others were using it.

By drum-tanning hides naturally with vegetable extracts and zero harsh chemicals, Adrian creates wallets and bags that are environmentally mindful, incredibly durable, and built to last for years with minimal maintenance.

From humble beginnings at farmer’s markets to stores across Canada, every piece is still lovingly handcrafted — carrying the tradition, care, and authenticity that define the Adrian Klis name.
